Welcome to Duos, an AI-powered interview practice app developed by Marina Gladysheva for Duos AI (also known as Lifter.ai), registered with the Chamber of Commerce under KVK81462549. At Duos, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, protect, and disclose information and data when you use the Duos App.
Information We Collect
When you use the Services, we collect certain information from you. This information can be broken down into four categories:

  • Information You Give Us: We may collect personal data such as your full name, email address, professional information, and account credentials.
  • Information We Receive From Other Sources: We currently support login only via Google and Apple (social login). When you choose to create your Duos account using these credentials, we collect your name, email, and profile picture associated with that account.
  • Information We Collect Automatically: We collect usage data, device information, and use cookies and similar tracking technologies.
  • Information We Create or Generate: We infer or generate new information from other personal data we collect, including to provide you with the Services you request.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for various purposes including providing and maintaining our Service, notifying you about changes, allowing you to participate in interactive features, providing customer care and support, improving the Service, monitoring usage, detecting and preventing technical issues, and personalizing your experience.
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
We process your personal data on the following legal grounds: your consent, performance of a contract when we provide you with our services, and legitimate interests in providing and improving our services.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
  • Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
  • Analytics: We use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.
  • Cloud Services: We use cloud services to host and process data related to our Service.
  • AI and Voice Processing: We utilize various voice and language model providers to process user input for our AI-powered interview simulations.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your Personal Data if required by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to protect our rights or comply with a legal obligation.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your Personal Data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Audio Transcription
  • We send recorded audio from interviews and AI coach conversations to the Deepgram Speech-To-Text API to transcribe it into text. Deepgram is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and processes this data solely on our behalf, as a data processor.
  • This audio is not linked to any other personal data such as your email or account details.
  • Audio files are stored temporarily in Firebase Cloud Storage for up to 7 days and then automatically and permanently deleted.

Use of Transcribed Data in AI Models
  • The transcribed text from user-recorded audio, along with chat inputs and user-selected career information (e.g., role, skills, past experience), is used to simulate a personalized job interview experience.
  • This data is sent to Large Language Models (LLMs) hosted via Azure Foundry, an an enterprise-grade, isolated cloud environment. These models are not consumer-facing web services and have no runtime connection to external model providers.
  • No personally identifiable information (such as email) is transmitted to the LLMs. Only the username selected within the app is included for personalization.
  • Duos does not use any user data for AI model training and neither does the Microsoft environment we use.
AI-Generated Voice (Text-to-Speech)
  • We use Azure Speech-To-Text and ElevenLabs to generate human-like voices for our AI interviewers and AI coach.
  • The text input for voice generation is derived from user conversations, and only the AI-generated text is sent to these services for voice synthesis.

Data Storage and Analytics
  • The transcript of AI-generated conversations is stored securely on Duos AI servers.
  • This stored data is used to provide ongoing analytics and personalized feedback on users interview performance and is NOT shared with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
  • Additionally, interview results, including transcripts, are processed through an automated anonymization flow that removes personally identifiable information and personal facts. These anonymized inputs are then detached from user data, stored separately, and may be used for internal quality assurance, system monitoring, and planning product improvements. This anonymized data cannot be traced back to individual users and is never used to train AI models.
Data Deletion and Account Removal
  • You can delete all your data and your account at any time through the settings in our application or by using this form.
  • Upon deletion, all stored conversation transcripts, audio files, and personal data are permanently removed from our systems.

Your Data Protection Rights Under GDPR
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights including the right to access, update, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your Personal Data.

As a GDPR-compliant service, we provide you with control over your personal data. You can delete all your data and your account via the settings in our application.
Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16 ('Children'). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
User Rights and Data Retention
You can choose not to provide certain information, but this may limit your ability to use certain features of the Duos App.

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us or via the settings in our application.
International Data Transfers
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction. We host servers in multiple locations across the globe, which may or may not be different from your country.
